News — By admin on August 15, 2011 at 5:28 PMU.S. Students holding Fulbright fellowships in five Latin American countries (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Nicaragua and Uruguay) spent the week of July 31- August 5 in Buenos Aires to attend the 2011 Regional Enhancement sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State. This educational seminar organized by the Fulbright Commission was meant to provide an opportunity for these young scholars to meet with peers, share the results of their research and rethink about their role as Fulbright fellows. In addition to attending academic sessions, the participants had some fun program activities like tango lessons and a day trip to cultural and historical buildings outside of Buenos Aires. On their last day, the students had a debriefing session with the Fulbright staff where they could assess the value of this enhancement program in terms of acquiring new perspectives for their careers as well as making new long lasting friendships.
