Teachers and Administrators
Teachers and Administrators can participate in a Fulbright exchange experience in Argentina. Qualified teachers will be selected to study, conduct research, teach classes, or develop a project at an Argentine university. The Distinguished Fulbright Awards in Teaching program sends highly accomplished primary and secondary teachers from the U.S. to Argentina and other participating countries. Award recipients will have the opportunity to study in an overseas research center or university and work on an action-based research project in conjunction with a host institution mentor. Upon returning home, teachers will be expected to share the knowledge and experience gained on the program with teachers and students in their home schools and within their communities. The Argentina Administrator Exchange Program is a short-term, mutual exchange opportunity for U.S. and Argentina school administrators to work together on issues of mutual interest to their communities, schools and students. Profile Applicants should be able to host an Argentine administrator in home, community and school (home stay) for three weeks. He/she should have a sincere interest in learning from the experience of others and sharing best practices. Applicants should also be prepared to make presentations about the United States before diverse audiences in Argentina. Spanish is recommended, but not required. Eligibility
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Be a full-time employee in the U.S. with at least three years experience as an elementary, middle or secondary school administrator (superintendents, principals, vice principals).
- Attend Washington, DC program orientation
- Host administrative partner in home community and school (home stay) for three weeks
- Travel to Argentina, participate in pre-program orientation and complete full program in Argentina
Length The Argentina Administrator Exchange Program includes an orientation in Washington, DC followed by hosting of an Argentine principal for two to three weeks. The following summer, US administrators will attend a program orientation in Buenos Aires and Cordoba, then participate in the exchange with their program partner for three weeks during the summer.
