Fulbright-Hays-Group Projects Abroad Program

The Fulbright-Hays Seminars Abroad Program provides opportunities for U.S. educators and administrators with responsibilities for curriculum development in the humanities, foreign languages, social sciences, and area studies.  The purpose of this program is to improve knowledge and understanding of the cultures and peoples of non-Western European countries. The Department of Education and the State Department partner this program with Fulbright commissions who plan and conduct seminars for U.S. educators.

Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Program

This program provides grants to colleges and universities to fund individual doctoral students who conduct research in other countries, in modern foreign languages and area studies for periods of six to 12 months.
Projects deepen research knowledge on and help the nation develop capability in areas of the world not generally included in U.S. curricula. Projects focusing on Western Europe are not supported.
